In a report to the Medina Lions Club on March 2, Medina Ag Day Chair Gerald Horner said Tim Dewald of Streeter, N.D., will share highlights of his return trip to Vietnam during the April 10 event.

The Ag Day afternoon program will feature the “Hat Lady,” Jeannette Holm, Horner said. In addition, the Medina FFA will have an afternoon program for children. This will be the 14th annual Ag Day sponsored by the Medina Lions Club. The event includes a noon meal and agricultural, commercial and community exhibits at the Medina Public School Auditorium.

Lillian Schlecht presented a large stuffed cloth lion to President Chris Wingire during the meeting. The lion had been used by her late husband, Reuben, as a means to promote the club’s eyeglasses recycling program and to call attention to other Medina Lions Club events in the community.

The club developed plans for a fall fundraising sports event. The club also discussed donation requests. Ray Heupel and Bruce Rau were named to serve as a nominating committee. Jim Cowell gave the secretary’s report, and Pastor Karl Limvere gave the invocation. The club’s next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. March 15 at the Medina Café.
