Work to resume on tribal health center
Construction on the new health center on the Fort Berthold Reservation is resuming, after crews were idled for the winter months.
NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) — Construction on the new health center on the Fort Berthold Reservation is resuming, after crews were idled for the winter months.
Project manager Jim Foote says a meeting is planned Wednesday to set the construction schedule for the $20 million Elbowoods Memorial Health Center.
Ground was broken for the facility last October. The Army Corps of Engineers is to complete it in mid-2011, after which it will be turned over to the Indian Health Service.
The center is named for the community of Elbowoods, which was flooded when Garrison Dam was built.
