Jamestown’s young professional’s organization, After 5, will be hosting its annual Beer Tasting Fundraiser and Home Brewing Contest starting at 7 p.m. Friday, March 26, at the Jamestown Arts Center.
Tickets are $20 each, or a “six-pack” of tickets can be purchased for $100. Tickets are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce, Intelligent Design, Express Tech and Cork and Barrel or from any After 5 member.
To enter the brewing contest, brewers must have a ticket to the event and at least two bottles (24 ounces) of their homemade brews. Judging starts at 7:30 p.m. No pre-registration is required.
Last year, more than 80 people attended the tasting and more than 10 home brewers shared their ales, stouts and other brews. All money raised from the fundraiser is used to promote After 5’s mission of creating camaraderie, connections and community in Jamestown.
After 5 is a group of individuals, aged 21 and over, dedicated to making Jamestown an enjoyable place to live and work. It is a committee of the Chamber of Commerce and one of its goals is to improve work force recruitment and retention. After 5 plans social events, networking functions and volunteer opportunities throughout the year in order to have fun and make lasting connections within the community.
