BHSU tabs assistant for men’s hoops post
Black Hills State University has named assistant Bradd Schafer as the new head men’s basketball coach. Schafer will take over for Paul Sather, who resigned earlier this month to succeed coaching legend Don Meyer at NCAA Division II Northern State University in Aberdeen.
SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) — Black Hills State University has named assistant Bradd Schafer as the new head men’s basketball coach.
Schafer will take over for Paul Sather, who resigned earlier this month to succeed coaching legend Don Meyer at NCAA Division II Northern State University in Aberdeen.
Schafer has been an assistant under Sather at Black Hills State the past four seasons.
The Yellow Jackets tied Valley City State for the Dakota Athletic Conference championship last season and return all four starters next season.
Black Hills State has been to the NAIA national tournament two straight seasons, including a run to the Final Four in 2009 under Sather.
