Five JHS students named to Academic All-State Team
The Academic All State Team is comprised of more than 30 top students from Class A schools across the state of North Dakota. The All-State Team includes: 8 Gold Team members, 7 Silver Team members and 17 Bronze Team members, and was selected based on ACT Scores, Grade Point Averages and school involvement.

This year’s members were recognized at the “Parade of Champions” during The State Class A Basketball Tournament on March 12.
Jamestown High School senior Jennifer Neva is the daughter of Randy and Tracy Neva. She was selected to the N.D. Class A All-State Gold Team. While at JHS, she has been involved in the following extracurricular activities: National Honor Society, I-Safe, Science Olympiad, Lifesmarts, Econ-Bowl, Science Bowl and Closeup. In addition, she was recently selected as a National Merit Finalist. She is currently exploring several college options.
Garth Allen, son of Gene and Bev Allen, was chosen as a member of The All-State Bronze Team. He has been involved in the following JHS activities: National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, Lifesmarts and Sciencebowl. He plans to pursue a degree in mech-anical engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
The following three individuals were recognized as honorable mentions: William Swanson is the son of Victor Swanson and Nicole Oster. He is a member of the National Honor Society and other activities include: Student Council, Spanish Club, Lifesmart, track and Cross County. He is currently undecided about his college plans. Tara Morris is the daughter of Jim and Rita Morris. Her involvements include: Speech Team, French Club, Sophistikix Dance Team, wind ensemble, JHS Band Color Guard and National Honor Society. She plans to attend North Dakota State University and major in pharmacy. Transy Wells is the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Wells. While at JHS, she has participated in the following: German Club, girls tennis, National Honor Society and UND Honors Orchestra. She plans to attend Concordia College and possibly major in German.
