Nurse sentenced on drug, forgery charges
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim announced that on Monday, Jacqueline Gross Binstock, 38, of Bismarck, was sentenced before U.S. District Court Judge Daniel L. Hovland on a charge of acquisition of controlled substances by misrepresentation and forgery.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim announced that on Monday, Jacqueline Gross Binstock, 38, of Bismarck, was sentenced before U.S. District Court Judge Daniel L. Hovland on a charge of acquisition of controlled substances by misrepresentation and forgery.
Hovland sentenced Binstock to 18 months of probation and 40 hours of community service. Binstock must pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim’s Fund.
From January 2007 through August 2008, Binstock fraudulently obtained controlled substances while employed as a registered nurse. Binstock forged a doctor’s signature on more than 100 prescriptions, filled them at various pharmacies in Bismarck, and obtained approximately 1,650 dosage units of oxycodone, approximately 2,800 dosage units of hydromorphone and approximately 10,000 dosage units of hydrocodone.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bismarck Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Hagler prosecuted the case.
