Zimmerman has been teaching the basics of drawing to students in grade 5 over the six-week period which ends Friday. She has also been teaching after-school sessions for middle school students at the Youth for Christ drop-in center. There she has been teaching printmaking.

The printing press from the Arts Center’s Hansen Arts Studio has been there so that students can learn both intaglio and relief printing techniques. These students, as well as the Youth For Christ Director Troy Gunderson, will demonstrate these printmaking processes at the Buffalo Mall today beginning at 4 p.m. Student work will also be on display today through March 31 at Buffalo Mall.

Zimmerman’s residency and this opportunity for students to learn have been funded in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts. The North Dakota Council on the Arts is the state agency responsible for the support and development of the arts throughout North Dakota, and is funded by the state Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
