Safe taken in N.D. robbery found, but empty

A safe that was stolen during a credit union burglary in the small northwest North Dakota town of Ryder has been found, but with no money inside.

ROSEGLEN, N.D. (AP) — A safe that was stolen during a credit union burglary in the small northwest North Dakota town of Ryder has been found, but with no money inside.

Ward County Sheriff's Capt. Todd Keller says the safe was found in the basement of a church in nearby Roseglen. He says it had been forced open and was empty. Authorities have not said how much money is missing.

The safe was taken from a Town and Country Credit Union branch in Ryder last Tuesday.
