Fifty-three donate blood in Jamestown
Two blood drives were recently held in Jamestown to benefit United Blood Services. Blood drive coordinator Sally Flieth, the North Dakota State Hospital and James River Correctional Center held a blood drive on March 23. Fifty-three people volunteered to donate and 48 were able to give. Three of the donors gave blood for the first time.

Others who assisted with the drive were Jodi Ronningen, Kathleen Heller and Peggy Koch.
A drive was also held March 10-22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, which sponsored the drive. Dean Haas coordinated the event.
Rob Miller, senior donor recruitment representative at United Blood Services, said of 165 people who volunteered to donate over the two days, 141 were able to give. There were 12 people who donated for their first time.
