Recreation areas without power

Lake LaMoure recreation areas will remain without power through the weekend, according to the LaMoure County Department of Emergency Services. The lake level is still too high for crews to isolate flooded electrical equipment. This means that power cannot yet be restored, even to unaffected lake lots. If power is needed for cleanup, portable generators will need to be used for now.

The lake level is still too high for crews to isolate flooded electrical equipment. This means that power cannot yet be restored, even to unaffected lake lots. Inspectors from the North Dakota State Electrical Board plan to meet with Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative crews next week. They will determine when and how power can be safely restored to lots where the electrical equipment was not flooded.

Renters of lake lots where the electrical equipment was submerged in flood waters will need to contact a North Dakota-licensed electrical contractor to make the proper repairs. After repairs are made, a wiring certificate will be issued to DVEC so that they may reconnect power to that location.
