CAP completes flood mission

The Civil Air Patrol says it has completed its flood response mission in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.

FARGO (AP) — The Civil Air Patrol says it has completed its flood response mission in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.

Aircraft and personnel from seven Midwest states have returned home after providing nearly 360 hours of flight time supporting disaster relief efforts in the three states.

Acting as an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, the Civil Air Patrol sent crews from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin to the base in Fargo.

The flight crews gathered information for various state and federal agencies, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency. CAP crews also did ice jam patrols on numerous rivers.
