UNO’s Blais receives 2-year extension
University of Nebraska at Omaha hockey coach Dean Blais has received a two-year contract extension that pays him $250,000 a year and keeps him with the Mavericks through 2014-15.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — University of Nebraska at Omaha hockey coach Dean Blais has received a two-year contract extension that pays him $250,000 a year and keeps him with the Mavericks through 2014-15.
Blais led the Mavs to a 20-16-6 record in his first season. UNO finished in sixth place in its final season in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. The Mavs move to WCHA in 2010-11.
Blais coached North Dakota to national championships in 1997 and 2000 and last season led the U.S. National Junior Team to the gold medal in the world championships.
