St. John’s, St. James plan 24-hour prayer

St. John’s Lutheran Church and St. James Basilica will combine tonight for 24 hours of continuous prayer. From 9 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Saturday, the basilica will be host to prayer from anyone who wishes to attend. At 9 a.m., the Jamestown Prayer Quilt will be taken north on First Avenue to St. John’s for another 12 hours of prayer.

From 9 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Saturday, the basilica will be host to prayer from anyone who wishes to attend. At 9 a.m., the Jamestown Prayer Quilt will be taken north on First Avenue to St. John’s for another 12 hours of prayer.

The quilt was assembled for the Dakota Prayer Conference in 2001. It spent a year in Washington, a year in Iraq with American soldiers and later was displayed near the Jamestown Reservoirs spillway during the spring 2009 flood.

The 35 ministries represented on the quilt are invited to join in the march from St. James to St. John’s.

St. James is located at 622 First Ave. S. St. John’s is located at 424 First Ave. S.
