Hanson candidate for Minnesota job

The interim president of North Dakota State University is in the running for the presidency of two Minnesota schools.

FARGO (AP) — The interim president of North Dakota State University is in the running for the presidency of two Minnesota schools.

Richard Hanson is among candidates an-nounced this week for president of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College. Current President Jon Quistgaard plans to retire this summer.

Hanson stepped down as the president of Waldorf College in Iowa to become NDSU’s interim president late last year. He replaced Joseph Chapman, who resigned after criticism of his spending.

Hanson applied to be Chapman’s permanent successor but was eliminated from contention by a search committee.
