Basilica hosting national speaker

St. James Basilica in Jamestown will host national speaker, author and cartoonist Jason Kotecki from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. He has been invited to share an intergenerational program for ages 5 to 105. It will be a funny and uplifting look at how to stress less and have more fun by uncovering a more childlike faith. Kotecki will share key strategies for destressing life and finding a happy and manageable balance — and every day faith.

Those who attended Kotecki’s program in fall 2008 are encouraged to come to this “part 2” event that will help provide more tools to embrace an everyday spirituality. The event will be held in the Zebedee Center Gym and child care will be provided.

Anecdotes, colorful artwork and a bit of live cartooning will be featured in Kotecki’s presentation, as he encourages attendees of all ages to embrace and uncover strategies from childhood to help them grasp a deeper understanding of faith, family, and fellowship. He will talk about the prevention and treatment of “Adultitis.

“Tired, stressed, and overwhelmed – that’s someone with ‘adultitis’ — do you know anyone like that?” asks Kotecki, author of several books, including: “Escape Adulthood: 8 Secrets from Childhood for the Stressed-Out Grown-Up.” Kotecki asserts that “Life is too short to live this way. It’s time to start living life with less stress and more fun, for we are called to live life abundantly.”
