UND renews flight training deal with Japan school

The University of North Dakota has renewed a contract with Tokai (toh-KY') University in Japan to train pilots.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The University of North Dakota has renewed a contract with Tokai (toh-KY') University in Japan to train pilots.

UND also is training students from China, Norway, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan. Aerospace Foundation director Chuck Pineo says the number of contract students at the university is now at about 350.

The new deal with Tokai University is for four years with a minimum of 40 students each year. The contract that expired started in 2007.
