Teen hit by car, treated for injuries Monday

One teenager was treated for injuries in the Jamestown Hospital emergency room Monday afternoon after being struck by a car, according to Lt. Robert Opp, Jamestown Police Department. The extent of injuries is unknown. Police said the 15-year-old male ran onto 12th Avenue Northeast shortly after school was let out at around 3:20 p.m., Opp said.

One teenager was treated for injuries in the Jamestown Hospital emergency room Monday afternoon after being struck by a car, according to Lt. Robert Opp, Jamestown Police Department. The extent of injuries is unknown.

Police said the 15-year-old male ran onto 12th Avenue Northeast shortly after school was let out at around 3:20 p.m., Opp said. Tammy Jacobson, 43, 819 Seventh Ave. S.E., was driving a 1998 Honda car south on 12th Avenue Northeast and hit the teenager. She was not issued any citations.

The accident happened in the street and not at a crosswalk, Opp said.

The teenager’s name has not been released. The speed at which the Honda was moving is also unknown.
