Local centenarians honored

The Day Dream Teams of Hi-Acres Manor and Ave Maria Village held simultaneous open house celebrations to honor centenarians residing at their respective facilities on March 6. The honorees either had already turned 100 years old, or would be turning 100 sometime in 2010.

The Day Dream Teams of Hi-Acres Manor and Ave Maria Village held simultaneous open house celebrations to honor centenarians residing at their respective facilities on March 6. The honorees either had already turned 100 years old, or would be turning 100 sometime in 2010.

Hi-Acres Manor residents recognized for reaching this milestone included: Leona Brown, Vi Hobert, Frankie Hoersch, Irma Remboldt, and Margaret Weatherly.

Ave Maria Village centenarians honored were: Pauline Deutscher, Aurora Sandberg, Clara Nitschke, Helen Bothne, Sadie Schock, Linda Whipple, Caroline Karn and Hilda Ketterling.

Gary Riffe, administrator of Hi-Acres Manor, and Bonnie Arthaud, founder/chair of Ave Maria Village Day Dream Team, welcomed residents and guests, which included many family and friends. Riffe, and Ave Maria CEO Tim Burchill, emceed PowerPoint presentations featuring pictures and biographies of each of the honorees.

Following the presentations pies were served.
