river search continues in Grand Forks area

The search is continuing for a man who authorities say might have jumped from a bridge over the Red River between Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, Minn.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The search is continuing for a man who authorities say might have jumped from a bridge over the Red River between Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, Minn.

The search began Tuesday after a truck driver reported that a person might have jumped from the bridge, and authorities found personal items on the bridge belonging to 19-year-old Delano Gaking.

They said Tuesday they were treating the investigation as a missing person case because no one actually saw Gaking jump or fall into the water.

Authorities have been using boats and sonar to search, and also dragging the river.
