Comedy

“Harvey,” a comedy presented by Jamestown College, is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 15-17, in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium. Tickets are $7 and can be reserved by contacting the box office at 701-252-3467, ext. 2435, or e-mailing tickets@jc.edu.

“A Don’t Hug Me County Fair,” a musical comedy presented by the Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts, opens Thursday, April 22, at the Opera House in New Rockford. Tickets are $19 and can be reserved by calling 701-947-2174.

Lorie Line and Her Fab Five perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium at Jamestown College. Tickets are $44 and are available online at www.lorieline.com.

Around Town

“The Era of the Apron: Utilitarian Fashion from Pioneers to the Present,” presented by Audrey Lahlum in the Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series, is at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the Barnes County Museum in Valley City. Admission is a freewill donation.

Spring Craft Show, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Buffalo Mall.

Life’s Focus, an event for older adults, is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at the Jamestown Civic Center. Advance tickets are $4 and are available at The Jamestown Sun. Tickets at the door are $5.

Public swimming, sponsored by Jamestown Parks and Rec, is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at Jamestown High School. There is no admission charge. The walking track is open from 6 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday at Jamestown High School when school is in session. Use the main entrance. For more information, call 952-4003.

Open Mic Night, hosted by local musician John Crowston, is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Babb’s Coffee House. The open session is available to anyone wanting to perform.

Libraries/etc.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sundays by appointment. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

Alfred Dickey Public Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464.

Storytime is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alfred Dickey Public Library. The theme is “Adventure for Little ones.”

Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. S.E.

The Arts Center, located at 115 Second St. S.W., Jamestown, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There is no admission charge.

The Putnam House in Carrington is open for special events and by appointment by calling 701-652-2090. There is no admission charge.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N., Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation. “A Minor Inconvenience: Reflections of the Flood of 2009,” an exhibit of photographs by Molly McLain, is on display through April 30 at the museum.

The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown is open through May 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday through Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-15. Children under age 5 are admitted free.

Art

Calligraphy, a class taught by Angela Seitz, is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays, April 16, 23 and 30, at the Arts Center. Cost: $40 for members and $50 for others. Call the Arts Center at 251-2496 for more information or to register.
