LaMoure County theater season to open

At the LaMoure County Summer Musical Theatre will present its first show of the summer, The Diary of Anne Frank, June 24-27 at LaMoure Public School.

Meanwhile, work continues on this year’s musical production, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” which will still be held as scheduled on July 22-25, and July 29-Aug. 1. Directors Darcy and Lauren Brandenburg held auditions last month, and reported that they had a great turnout and were very impressed with the talent they saw. Even though auditions are over, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved in the show. If interested, call Lauren Brandenburg at 701-269-1311. She said the production is looking to hire someone who can play piano and isn’t afraid of technology.

On March 19-20, many volunteers helped clean the costume shop, which hadn’t received a thorough cleaning for several years. The cleanup led to the discovery of a large quantity of fabric and a collection of neckties.
