N.D. GOP Gov. Hoeven raises $1.37M for US Senate bid

North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven has raised almost $1.4 million for his U.S. Senate campaign.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven has raised almost $1.4 million for his U.S. Senate campaign.

The Republican governor filed his Federal Election Commission disclosure report on Thursday.

It shows $1.37 million in contributions from January through March.

Hoeven also has loaned his campaign $100,000, and he personally paid about $18,000 in campaign expenses.

After expenses, Hoeven has more than $1.2 million in his campaign treasury.

Hoeven, Democrat Tracy Potter of Bismarck and Libertarian candidate Keith Hanson of West Fargo are running for the Senate.

Hoeven is the favorite to win the seat now held by Democrat Byron Dorgan, who is not running for re-election.
