Churches pass prayer quilt

After 12 hours of continuous prayer from 9 p.m. April 2 to 9 a.m. April 3, members from St. James Catholic Basilica, the Jamestown Prayer Quilt was passed on to St. John’s Lutheran for another 12 hours of continuous prayer for unity and peace in Jesus Christ in the community and the country.

Those participating were: Charles and Margaret Krebs, their children, Samuel, Damien and Juliana; Wayne Deery Jr.; Margaret Hickey; Sharon Maulding and Christine Witt.

The quilt was assembled for the Dakota Prayer Conference in 2001. It spent a year in Washington, a year in Iraq with American soldiers and later was displayed near the Jamestown Reservoir spillway during the spring 2009 flood.
