Letter to the editor : Old Highway 10 shouldn’t be put back to gravel

Well ... What is left to say about Old Highway 10 that hasn’t already been said? Not much, however, keep this in mind: We know how that road was taken care of as a “highway.” Can we imagine what it’s going to be like as gravel? It will need more care than just once a summer. I have driven this road for almost 30 years and about all that gets done is to patch a few holes. Heck, we don’t even get the lines painted down the center anymore.

Those sure come in handy when it’s foggy or when the snow is blowing across the roads.

I am so disappointed that the answer to all the problems is to put this road back to gravel. I, like everyone else, want to get from point A to point B in as little time as I can. Not so with the gravel. I won’t drive that road. Going on the interstate will add more miles and time to my commute to and from work. Let’s get with the times. It’s 2010!
