Minot State down to three finalists for post

Jayden Olson, Peter Stewart and Jon Bishop are the three finalists for the head men’s basketball coaching job at Minot State.

Olson, a native of Beulah, N.D., is currently an assistant coach at Augustana College and graduate of Dickinson State.

Stewart, originally from Parshall, N.D., is currently the head coach at Peninsula College (Wash.) where he has led them to three conference championships and been named coach of the year twice.

Bishop is a Missouri native and currently the head coach at the University of Saint Mary (Kan.), and was 19-11 last season in his second year.

“We are happy with the interest we got in the head men’s basketball coaching position and the caliber of the talent in our application pool,” said Minot State athletic director Rick Hedberg.

A final decision is expected next week.
