Boardings increase at airport

Jamestown Regional Airport saw a 23 percent increase in boardings this past march compared to one year ago, according to the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission. The passenger count for March, 2010 was 282 up from 230 in March 2009. The 2010 boardings were the highest recorded in March this decade.

“Our airports have been working to get additional scheduled flights and to keep them,” said Larry Taborsky, director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission. “North Dakotans have been making use of this opportunity.”

Total boardings for North Dakota increased more than 12,000 or about 21 percent. The biggest numerical increase in boardings was Fargo with 7,097 additional boardings for a 24 percent. Williston saw the biggest percentage increase in boards with 249 more passengers for a 33 percent increase.

The four commercial airports, Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot saw an increase of 21 percent while the four regional airports, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Jamestown and Williston saw a 19 percent increase.
