36 JHS students compete at state choir competition
Jamestown High School Choir students attended the WDA Music Contest on April 8 in Bismarck. Forty-seven students attended and performed either solos or ensembles for a judge and audience members. Students received good, excellent and superior ratings. Those who “starred” or received a superior rating will continue on to state level competition, which will be held on the campus of Jamestown College on April 23. Thirty-six students will advance to state festival.

These students starred on their solos: Jocelyn Meidinger, Jace Erickson, Laura Kraft, Megan Kapp, Sarah Muhs, Leah Entzel, Matthew McIntyre, Abby Wenzel, Katelyn Kunzman and Erica Derheim. Students who starred on their various ensembles include: Nick Bercier, Erica Derheim, Emily Engels, Elizabeth Entzel, Leah Entzel, Jace Erickson, Marta Fitzer, Kaitlin Grosgebauer, Mariah Hiltner, Sterling Hubbard, Dana Jystad, Megan Kapp, Alex Kelstrom, Jaime Kessler, Nathan Kopperud, Laura Kraft, Katelyn Kunzman, Matt McIntyre, Jocelyn Meidinger, Rachel Mogck, Katie Morehouse, Sarah Muhs, Alec Nelson, Tiffany Newman, Ally Nill, Abby Nill, Lea Johnson, Logan Rasmussen, Nicole Rixen, Samantha Sortland, Shelby Steinmetz, Kayla Thoele, Mikaela Walker, Abby Wenzel, Tyler Ziegelman, Alexis Weng and Louis Bohanney.
Students will present a public recital of their contest music at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Jamestown High School Auditorium.
