Medical leaders to hold CMA class
The Medical Leaders Roundtable committee will offer a Certified Medical Assistant class throughout the month of July in Jamestown at the Career and Technology Center. Sister Pam Pranke, R.N., will teach the class.
The Medical Leaders Roundtable committee will offer a Certified Medical Assistant class throughout the month of July in Jamestown at the Career and Technology Center. Sister Pam Pranke, R.N., will teach the class.
A minimum of six students is necessary for the class which will have a maximum of 24 students. The required lecture-style class will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays during July. The prerequisites are:
* must be a registered nursing assistant with the North Dakota State Board of Nursing or a CNA registered with the North Dakota Board of Health.
* must have a formal letter of recommendation from the director of nursing in the facility where the individual will do his/her preceptorship.
* must possess a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
* must have one year of experience as a CNA.
Class dates will be July 6, 7, 13 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 with the testing being done at the end of class on the July 28. On-the-job training will be done through preceptorship at a designated facility as required by the State Board of Nursing. Registration is due by June 1 and the cost is $600 per student.
