JC band presents concert Sunday

The Jamestown College Concert Band will present its Spring Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Benjamin D. Schneider, director of bands and orchestra, the Concert Band will perform works by Donald Haddad, Jeffrey Hass, Norman Dello Joio, George Hamilton Green, and Joseph Peter Green, as well as “Semper Fidelis” by John Philip Sousa.

Guest conductor Ken Aune will lead the band in its performance of “I Am” by Andrew Boysen. Aune is director of bands at Jamestown Middle School.

Guest soloists are Chris Mahan, xylophone, ad-junct instructor of percussion at Jamestown College, and Dr. Richard Walentine, baritone, professor of music at Jamestown College.
