Letter to the editor: Democrats’ bait and switch is in full gear

The bait and switch is on.

Congress and the Democrats are working overtime to remind voters how they cut taxes with the massive so-called stimulus, think pork barrel bailout, bill they passed last year.

Well, that’s the bait.

The switch came in the $500 billion tax increase in the health care bill passes this year. And they are not done. The Democrats are going to let a series of economic development tax cuts expire at the end of the year.

Doesn’t matter whether it is an increase or taking away a tax cut, it is all just another tax increase. But, there is more. We are already hearing about the energy cap and trade/tax bill rearing its ugly job- killing head. And now, we even hear talk of a value added tax or wholesale level tax which would increase the cost of all goods and services sold in this country.

So the next time you hear a Democrat bragging about cutting taxes, remember, it is nothing more than the biggest bait and switch con job of the decade.
