The report released Monday by a state office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture said warm, dry conditions were ideal for fieldwork and enabled producers to make significant progress in planting.
Other farm activities for the week included calving, lambing and applying fertilizer.
Topsoil moisture supplies rated 9 percent short, 80 percent adequate and 11 percent surplus, compared with the five-year average of 24 percent short or very short, 62 percent adequate and 14 percent surplus.
Going into this week, spring wheat, corn and sugarbeet planting was well under way.
Soybeans were 2 percent planted, compared with none planted this time last year.
