Stewart tabbed as Minot State coach

Minot State has named Peter Stewart as the school’s 14th head men’s basketball coach. Stewart, a native of Parshall, N.D., and graduate of UND, has been the head coach at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Wash., the past seven seasons.

Minot State has named Peter Stewart as the school’s 14th head men’s basketball coach.

Stewart, a native of Parshall, N.D., and graduate of UND, has been the head coach at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Wash., the past seven seasons.

“Peter has a variety of experiences, from playing at the NCAA Division II level at UND to playing and coaching at a professional level overseas, to the last seven years at Peninsula College,” Minot State athletic director Rick Hedberg said.

Minot State is in the process of moving from the NAIA to the NCAA Division II level. They will compete in the Dakota Athletic Conference through the 20-10-11 season.
