Jamestown LifeSmarts takes second at nationals

The Jamestown High School LifeSmarts team took second place in the National LifeSmarts competition Tuesday morning in Miami.

The Jamestown High School LifeSmarts team took second place in the National LifeSmarts competition Tuesday morning in Miami.

The team is comprised of seniors Spencer Kamoni, Garth Allen, Chris Lane, Jennifer Neva and Jamen Windish. It is coached by economics and social studies teacher Marchel Krieger.

LifeSmarts is a competition that tests the consumer and marketplace knowledge of students in five categories: personal finance, health and safety, consumer rights and responsibilities, technology and the environment.

The Jamestown High School represented North Dakota and lost to Maryland. The score in the final match was 250 to 190.

Jamestown finished above 31 teams at the competition.
