Letter to the editor: Bus drivers at senior center are friendly and helpful

Kudos to the James River Senior Citizens’ bus drivers.

I am a cancer patient, with a huge loss of physical abilities. I have ridden many times with the James River Senior Citizens’ buses. All of the drivers are very helpful — they carry groceries into and out of the buses. They help disabled people on and off the buses and offer aid with walkers, wheelchairs and canes. Most know many people by name, along with addresses and where many of us live.

They are performing a wonderful service in an area where there is no other means of public transportation.

Their thoughtfulness, smiles and help go a long way to make better days for any of us, no matter the degree of helplessness each of us may suffer.
