“A Don’t Hug Me County Fair” is now running at the Opera House in New Rockford. The much anticipated sequel in the “Don’t Hug Me” series, it is a roller coaster ride of regional humor and original songs.

It’s county fair time in Bunyan Bay, Minn., the biggest thing to happen since the winter carnival snowplow parade. This year the Bunyan County fair means two things to Gunner and Clara Johnson, owners of a tiny bar called the Bunyan — the big County Fishing Contest and the Annual Miss Walleye Queen competition. Bernice, the pretty waitress and singer, sees it as her big chance to be discovered, and more importantly, to have her face carved out of butter at the Minnesota State Fair. The trouble begins when Clara decides she also wants to win the coveted title of Miss Walleye, and when Gunner’s twin sister, Trigger, also shows up to enter the contest things get ugly.

Lynnae Lies returns as Clara, the role she played in the two previous “Don’t Hug Me” plays. Jess Roscoe is Bernice, while newcomers to the stage Austin Langley and Kaleb are Kanute and Aarvid. Also, Peter Foss returns to the Opera House stage in the role of Gunner.

The show runs weekends through May 23, and tickets are $19 and available online at www. dprca.com.
