Minot native is US Naval Academy supe

Navy Rear Adm. Michael Miller has been assigned to serve as the superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Navy Rear Adm. Michael Miller has been assigned to serve as the superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy.

The Minot native also has been nominated for appointment to the rank of vice admiral, the second-highest rank for Navy commissioned officers.

Miller previously has worked at the White House and the Pentagon, and also commanded an aircraft carrier group. His new assignment to lead the Naval Academy will return him to his alma mater. He was commissioned at the academy in Annapolis, Md., in 1974.
