The search for a missing Kensal man continued over the weekend in Foster County with no results, said Mike Tufte, Foster County sheriff.
Joshua Blahna, 26, went missing on or about the late hours of April 25 or the early hours of April 26. His car was found near his mother’s house about 10 miles northwest of Kensal. He was living with his father and mother in the Kensal area and friends in Jamestown.
Blahna is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.
Various agencies have been searching the James River since Wednesday.
On Saturday crews continued to search the banks of the James near the scene, Tufte said.
The search continued on Sunday with law enforcement officials looking for additional tracks at the scene, and a U.S. Border Patrol helicopter flying over the river, he said.
“We’re not giving up, we want to find out every little thing we can, even the last people who talked to him,” Tufte said. “We’re not giving up by a long shot.”
This week, Tufte said he plans to bring back the Dakota Territory Search Dogs and get a boat back on the river.
Ken Wangen, training officer with the Carrington Volunteer Department, said today his crews will scrape the bottom of the river from the side and that their diver wanted to get back in the water, weather permitting.
The Blahna family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the location of Joshua Blahna. If people have information they can contact the Foster County Sheriff’s Department at 701-652-2251, the Jamestown office of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 701-251-2993, or State Radio at 1-800-471-2121.
The American Red Cross Buffalo Valley Chapter was on the scene Thursday through Saturday and provided food and hydration during the search operation.
