Belcourt day care operator sentenced

A Belcourt day care operator has been sentenced to two years probation for stealing from a tribal assistance program.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Belcourt day care operator has been sentenced to two years probation for stealing from a tribal assistance program.

Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says 42-year-old Billie Jo Parisien Decoteau (puh-REE’zhun duh-KOH’toh) also was ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution.

Authorities say that from October 2007 through May 2008 Parisien Decoteau submitted falsified documents to the Turtle Mountain Child Care Assistance Program to receive payments to which she was not entitled.
