BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A 26-year-old Belcourt man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing two juvenile girls over a period of nearly a year.
Kyle Decoteau had been convicted by a federal grand jury in January on one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two counts of abusive sexual contact.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says Decoteau was given the mandatory minimum sentence. He will be on supervised release for 15 years following his prison term.
Jordheim says the abuse occurred from December 2006 through September 2007 on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.
