Frank Andersen Bowden, 97, Carrington, N.D., died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington. Mr. Bowden was born Dec. 26, 1912, at Twin Tree Township in Benson County, North Dakota, the son of Charles and Jessie (Hopkins) Bowden.

Frank Andersen Bowden, 97, Carrington, N.D., died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.

Mr. Bowden was born Dec. 26, 1912, at Twin Tree Township in Benson County, North Dakota, the son of Charles and Jessie (Hopkins) Bowden. He grew up and attended high school in Maddock, N.D. He married Amedia B. Fornshell on Oct. 7, 1934, at her family farm near Carrington. They farmed in Normore Township, North Dakota, and then moved to a farm north of Grace City, N.D. In 1943, they bought a farm in Rolling Prairie Township in Foster County, North Dakota, near Juanita, N.D. After he retired, he worked for farmers and also did carpentry work in the area. She died March 26, 1999. He was a member of the Rolling Prairie School Board for several years. He enjoyed rocks, woodworking, going to craft shows, flowers and vegetable gardens, fishing, hunting, reading books and playing cards.

He is survived by a son, Martin, Fargo, N.D.; a sister, Betty Winandy, Carrington; a sister-in-law, Elaine Caylor, Carrington; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Charles; his parents; a brother, Henry; a sister, Laura; and a daughter-in-law, Maryann

Services: 2 p.m. today, Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, with the Rev. Susan Fandrich officiating.

Visitation: 9 a.m. until the service today at the funeral home.

Burial: Carrington Cemetery, Carrington.
