Jamestown College finished the year 39-11 and finished second at the Dakota Athletic Conference tournament, losing to Mayville State 12-4 in the championship.
The Jimmies have been to the NAIA Tournament four times and have a 1-6 overall record at the big dance.
Lewis-Clark State (47-3) earned the No. 1 overall seed and will be making its 29th trip to the national tournament, a NAIA record.
The nine sites where the national tournament will be played are: Cleveland, Tenn., Columbus, Ga., Daytona Beach, Fla., Fresno, Calif., Jackson, Miss., Joliet, Ill., Lubbock, Texas, Oklahoma City, Okla. and Riverside, Calif.
The winners of the nine national championship opening-round tournaments, in addition to host school Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), will meet for the Annual Avista-NAIA World Series from May 28-June 4.
This year’s NAIA Tournament field is comprised of 32 automatic qualifiers from NAIA affiliated conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated groupings and 14 at-large bids, which were determined using the final Top 25 rating released Wednesday where the Jimmies received the third-highest votes outside the top 25.
