UND, NDSU holding graduation

North Dakota's two largest universities are holding their general spring commencements.

North Dakota's two largest universities are holding their general spring commencements.

About 1,600 people were eligible to get diplomas from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano (neh-pahl-ih-TAN’oh) was giving the keynote speech on Saturday.

In Fargo, about the same number were eligible to get diplomas from North Dakota State University.

Some graduates, such as law school students at UND and graduate students at NDSU, received their degrees at separate ceremonies. UND's medical school graduation was set for Sunday.
