Icelandic society offers scholarships

The Icelandic Heritage Society, an affiliate of the Scandinavian Heritage Association of Minot, North Dakota, is offering two scholarships of $500 each, to be awarded at the beginning of the second semester of school in the 2010-2011 year.

The Icelandic Heritage Society, an affiliate of the Scandinavian Heritage Association of Minot, North Dakota, is offering two scholarships of $500 each, to be awarded at the beginning of the second semester of school in the 2010-2011 year.

Any student of Icelandic descent who will be a junior or senior in an undergraduate program is eligible to apply for these awards. They must be carrying a full course of study, with a minimum 3.0 scholastic average, and be enrolled during the year of scholarship application.

These applications much be returned to the same address by Aug. 31, 2010, along with the materials requested in the application. The recipients will be selected by the scholarship committee and notified in September, with an award ceremony held during the Hostfest in October.
