Camp Release Day Camp planned

The Jamestown Area Grief Support Team is offering Camp Release Day Camp, a grief camp for children ages 9-16 who have experienced the death of someone important in their life. The camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 28 at the Triple R Horse Club, Edgeley, N.D.

The camp will offer these children the opportunity to spend time with other children who have also experienced a loss, to talk about their losses and the feelings that have resulted with other children and with adults and to learn some coping skills for handling those feelings.

Many activities are planned to help the children understand and express their grief. A variety of camp activities are also planned. There will be crafts, games, swimming and a camp fire. A certified lifeguard and registered nurse will be part of the staff. Parents will be invited to join their children for the evening campfire and closing activities.

There is no cost for the camp, but there is a $25 registration fee that will be returned at the close of the camp. Lunch, supper and snacks will be provided. Registrations are due June 21.
