HATTON, N.D. (AP) — Crews have been working in Hatton to clean up from a train derailment that spilled soybeans and restricted travel through much of the eastern North Dakota town.
Traill County deputy sheriff Conrad Steinhaus said a car on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train jumped the tracks about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, causing it and seven others to tip.
No injuries were reported.
The derailment blocked several rail crossings around town, and Steinhaus said it could take until sometime Sunday before the tracks are clear.
BNSF officials said the 105-car train was heading from Mayville to the Pacific Northwest.
