Scholar inks contract with UND
The University of North Dakota medical school has signed its first student contract in its RuralMed Scholarship Program.
GRAND FORKS (AP) — The University of North Dakota medical school has signed its first student contract in its RuralMed Scholarship Program.
The program pays a student’s full tuition for four years of medical school if the student agrees to pursue a career in family medicine and to practice full time in rural North Dakota for five years after completing his or her residency training. The tuition is valued at about $100,000.
“Rural North Dakota” is defined as areas outside the state’s four largest metro areas.
UND says the first signed contract is with Stephanie Lee, a second-year medical student from the small town of Mercer.
