Letter to the editor: Kourajian is the true leader that Jamestown needs
After reading the letter to the editor in The Jamestown Sun in late May from Dan Buchanan with regard to leadership and the qualities needed to be mayor, I feel it’s necessary for me to respond and talk about real leadership, not just what could be construed as a self-centered desire to quiet the trains coming through our community. My choice for mayor is an individual who has proven himself to not only be a good leader, but also an individual who always keeps the best interests of this city first.By: Joann Deede, The Jamestown Sun
My choice for mayor is an individual who has proven himself to not only be a good leader, but also an individual who always keeps the best interests of this city first. Many consider him Mr. Jamestown and with good reason. Time and again you may find him doing everything from watering the flowers on Main Street to looking over a new development for a prospective project, or at any myriad of meetings or local events, all showing his desire to see our community succeed.
I would also like to let everyone know that this individual supported and never waivered in the recent decision of the council to utilize some of the sales tax for fixing our city’s infrastructure like more than 1,100 voters asked him to do. Two of the present candidates for this position (Dwaine Heinrich and Katie Anderson) both publically spoke against this effort. I think it is clear that with the needs of this city as they are, the person with the best ability to bring the council together and tackle these issues is the only person in the race who has been there as a proven leader and is also the one who had the foresight to stand up for citizens.
I would hope that this city will see the benefit of putting Charlie Kourajian back in the mayor’s office as I do. This town must elect trusted, experienced leaders who can bring all parties together for one common goal: making Jamestown better. Kourajian is the one person running who can do this.
