Letter to the editor: Support Humane Society’s work with ‘yes’ vote

My family, along with many other families in Jamestown, have adopted pets from the James River Humane Society or maybe have pets buried in the pet cemetary on the Humane Society property. We appreciate the caring people who volunteer endless hours there in so many ways. Besides giving special care to the pets, these people work to raise funds to keep the shelter going. They have bake sales, chili feeds, spaghetti feeds, sell pecans and more.

Now, there’s a way the rest of us can help. For the cost of a good cup of coffee (maybe two) our community could generate about $13,000 annually by just going to vote. Let’s do that and please ... Let’s vote “Yes” on Measure No. 1.
