Bike Safety Rodeo to be held Friday

A Bike Safety Rodeo sponsored by the James Valley Fraternal Order of Police, Jamestown Parks and Recreation, Farmers Insurance Agency, Central Valley Health, Jamestown Optimists and Newman Signs will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Friday at Wilson Arena. Use the east doors. There will be a drawing for two new bikes along with other door prizes. Free hot dogs and pop will be served.

The rodeo includes a safety village for children to ride bikes through. Officials from the police department as well as Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department will be on hand to inspect bikes, tires and brakes for safety.

The departments will offer free bike helmets while supplies last and bike licenses for $5. The regular price is $15. A limited number of bikes will be available to ride the obstacle course. For more information, call the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Office, 252-3982.
