NR-S splits a pair with Surrey

The New Rockford-Sheyenne American Legion Baseball team split a double-header with Surrey in New Rockford on Friday.

The New Rockford-Sheyenne American Legion Baseball team split a double-header with Surrey in New Rockford on Friday.

Surrey picked up a 6-2 victory in the opener behind a seven inning, 7 strikeout performance by starting pitcher Josh Engel. Surrey’s Aaron Gebur went 3-for-4 in the game.

New Rockford-Sheyenne bounced back in the nightcap with a 7-1 victory. Starter Stephen Guler notched the victory striking out 9 batters over five innings of play.

Stephen and Evan Guler each went 2-for-3 with a double in the game.
